Total pancreatectomy
With reconstruction of celiac artery with saphenous vein graft, and reconstruction of SMV with renal vein graft
Case Description
A 62 year old man was referred for management of the finding of a tumour in the head and neck of the pancreas.
The tumour occluded the portal vein, leading to development of collateral branches in and around the pancreas head.
The tumour also enveloped the celiac trunk, the left gastric artery, the splenic artery, the common hepatic artery and the gastro-duodenal artery.
A total pancreatectomy with splenectomy was proposed, with reconstruction of the celiac trunk and the SMV.
