Virtual Interactive Cases: Preoperative Cases
Introduction
We have used VIC to create simulations of preoperative assessments. These are based on the set of questions in the Clinical Anesthesia Information System (CAIS) that is used at University Health Network to conduct preoperative assessments. The objective of the assessment is to detect the patient characteristics that require special attention during the induction and maintenance of anesthesia, and recommend any further testing that may be required prior to surgery.
