An IUD is small device used for contraception or treatment of heavy periods. Occasionally it is difficult to remove in the office and needs to be done with the help of hysteroscopy.
Biopsy

Endometrial ablation
This is a procedure that burns the inside lining of the uterus to treat heavy periods.
