Cardiac Anesthesiology Fellows Manual
Introduction
The Cardiac Anesthesiology Fellows Manual was created as a resource for new cardiac anesthesia fellows working in the cardiovascular intensive care unit (CVICU) at the Peter Munk Cardiac Center (PMCC) at Toronto General Hospital (TGH). The trend over recent years is for fewer, but more complex cardiac surgery patients. This has presented new challenges in the perioperative management of these patients. This manual reflects the progressive changes in our practice, particularly in CVICU. Tables and diagrams are used to convey important information about perioperative practices that have been implemented over recent years.
