Technique description
- This duct to mucosa with stent technique is one of many techniques that can be used to for performing the pancreaticojejunostomy.
- A total of five stitches are placed to approximate the pancreatic duct and mucosa. Each of the five stitches are placed at a specific location around the duct and enterotomy: 9, 12, 3, and 6 o'clock.
- Once the pancreatic stent is secured with one of the five stitches, additional seromuscular sutures are placed to approximate the jejunum and pancreatic capsule.
