Dear subscribers and followers,
Happy holidays! It’s been another great year at TVASurg - twelve new videos have been added to our atlas. If you missed any of our monthly releases, the links for all the cases we released in 2017 are in the gallery below.
This year, we continue to push the boundaries of Virtual Reality (VR) in surgical education. We released our award winning "VR Surgical Anatomy Module" for HTC Vive and Leap Motion controllers. If you own a HTC Vive at home or at work, feel free to download it, test it out, and let us know your thoughts!
For those who are curious about our video methodologies, we published two papers this year discussing the digital documentation of special topics in Multi-organ Transplant and HPB surgery. In the Journal of Visualized Surgery – “Depicting surgical anatomy of the porta hepatis in living donor liver transplantation” and in the Journal of Visual Communication in Medicine – “Visualizing a rare and complex case of advanced hilar cholangiocarcinoma”.
In addition to our usual educational surgical videos, we released our first animation short this summer - "Until Then". This short is inspired by the anatomical-themed opening credit of our favourite show “Westworld” and pays tribute to selfless generosity of organ and tissue donors.
Our team would like to thank you for your support for the atlas. We are excited for the new year and the new collaborative opportunities we've been developing. We will continue to push the boundaries of surgical education and provide new monthly content! To keep up with our latest projects, blog updates, and monthly video releases, please subscribe to our newsletter or follow us on Twitter or Facebook. We love hearing from our subscribers, so let us know if there is anything you'd like to see on TVASurg in 2018.
Warmest thoughts and best wishes for a wonderful holiday and a very happy new year!
TVASurg Team
